The Role of Technology in Modern Construction at New Key Construction

Reggie Keding began his career in construction and home improvement in 2005 with a national remodeling company. Though he learned much from this experience, he became dissatisfied with the lack of care and attention to detail he witnessed in many projects. Determined to serve customers more fully, he started New Key Construction in 2019 to create homes that are built to stand the test of time.

During the foundation phase, the concrete slowly and evenly cures, increasing its strength and durability. This is important because it must be able to withstand the forces of gravity, soil pressures, and any other environmental factors that may affect the home.

When the foundation is ready, the builder will call local building inspectors to examine it and certify that it meets all required building codes and standards. Once the inspection is complete, a certificate of occupancy can be issued and the construction can progress to the next phases.

This project involved a ground-up two-story, 273,000 square foot terminal, including a new employee cafe, technology center, sensory kitchen and testing booths, 2 levels of suites, a third-floor terrace, exterior landscaping and a 3rd floor parking garage. Key Construction also completed numerous additional projects for this customer, including generator new install/addition/swap, re-roof, power distribution, switchgear and busway additions and upgrades.
